Lazzara's Triple Pod Motor Yacht - LMC 76

Lazzara
Lazzara Yachts and Cummins MerCruiser Diesel have launched a triple-azipod-propelled 76-foot motor yacht that cruises at 25 knots. Triple 8.3-liter, 600-horsepower Zeus diesels are mounted side-by-side-by-side in the aft engine room, freeing up more than six additional feet, or enough room for a stateroom or crew quarters (compared to a conventional installation).

Besides Zeus’ impressive straight line performance, its drive-by-wire controls command the pod units, vectoring thrust so the boat can spin within its own own length, travel diagonally or crab sideways. It does this without a bow or stern thruster. Because thrust is applied parallel to the keel and pod drives feature inherently low hydrodynamic drag, the Zeus Lazzara package yacht benefits from a 30-percent improvement in wide-open-throttle fuel economy and up to a 30-percent greater range at best cruise.

The LMC acronym which stands for Lazzara Motor Cruiser. The boat measures 18.5-feet wide and boasts a shallow draft of just 4.5-feet. Top speed is about 28 knots with a cruising speed of 25 knots.
